The first step is to schedule a personal consultation. In this consultation you can discuss and express your goals and the results you’d like to achieve. Before surgery you’ll be given a pre-operative information packet that will explain better everything you should know before surgery. There are certain guidelines regarding eating, drinking, smoking and taking or avoiding certain vitamins and medications before surgery. Dr. Griner will make sure you are aware of those guidelines. You should arrange for someone to drive you home after the surgery and if needed offer help for a day or two.
Day of Surgery
On the day of the surgery you’ll meet your Anesthesiologist, see Dr. Griner and meet your operative Nurse. This is a good opportunity to ask any last minute questions. The length of the surgery can vary depending on your case; please ask Dr. Griner about your specific surgery to get a better idea.
Because every situation is unique, recovery time will can vary. Dr. Griner will discuss with you guidelines for caring for yourself after the surgery and what to expect. You’ll also have follow up appointments so Dr. Griner can asses your long-term results and answer any questions along the way.
